Director's Notes

"Murder is Fascinating"

Not that I want to cast a brilliant light on the subject but let's face it, murder intrigues and entices us. From Edgar Allen Poe to Jack The Ripper, whether fiction or true life, the idea behind the gruesome actholds us captive as we try to unfathom the unthinkable. After shaking off images of innocent victims, we enjoy immersing ourselves in the quest for answers. How many concentrated hours do we spend absorbed in print or electronic media looking for clues among the headlines of a high profile homicide case. Or the murder mystery novel that dominates every waking thought until the final chapter quenches our thirst to who, why and how.

Who did it? Why did they do it? How did they do it? These three are the basic building blocks that come into play when the victim is found. They are the essential elements that keep us coming back time after time with the desire "to know". They pull at our grey matter making us slaves, forcing us, with reckless obsession, to unravel the mystery, and gain the sole satisfaction of knowing, "who dun it." Enjoy!
