What is the Bowie Playhouse?

The Bowie Playhouse is a 150-seat indoor theater. It is owned by the City of Bowie and has been open since 1975. The facility is open year-round and offers plenty of free parking. The Bowie Playhouse fees are affordable and the facility operates for the benefit of community theater and other performing arts groups.

How can I find out the schedule of performances at the Bowie Playhouse?

Each year, the City works with three resident production groups to establish the schedule of performances. Bowie Community Theater (BCT) presents 3 or 4 plays each year. 2nd Star Productions' primary focus is musical theater and they present 3 or 4 productions each year. These productions are advertised in local papers and in the " This Month in Bowie " feature of the City of Bowie website or on Cable Channel 71B. Additional productions are presented by various schools of dance and local bands. Prince George's Little Theatre (PGLT) recently relocated to the Bowie Playhouse.
