The Bowie Playhouse

The Bowie Playhouse is owned and operated by the City of Bowie and is home to two groups: Bowie Community Theatre and 2nd Star Productions. It is a 150-seat indoor theater in operation since 1976 and renovated in 2008. It operates year round and offers plenty of free parking at the nearby White Marsh Park.
If your group would like to reserve a date and time to perform at the Bowie Playhouse, contact the Bowie Department of Community Services at (301) 262-6200.

Helpful Tips to find the Playhouse

  • Route 3 has traffic going in both directions prior to its intersections with Route 450/Annapolis Road and Cambridge Court. In between these intersections, route 3 splits. Trees and buildings separate the southbound lanes of route 3 and the northbound lanes of route 3.
  • If you are in the northbound lanes of route 3, you will need to make a U-turn to drive down the southbound lanes of route 3.
  • Once in the southbound lanes of route 3, turn right on White Marsh Park Drive.
  • As you drive down White Marsh Park Drive, you'll see an athletic club on the right and athletic fields on the left. Drive to the end of White Marsh Park Drive.
  • At the end of White Marsh Park Drive, you can turn left or right. If you were to turn right, you would see the Bowie Playhouse down the lane; handicapped parking is available at the Playhouse. If handicapped parking is not needed, turn left to park your car in the free parking lot; enjoy the short stroll from the parking lot to the Bowie Playhouse.
