Bowie Community Theatre joined WATCH (Washington Area Theatre Community Honors) in 2006. Each year BCT's productions are adjudicated by 10 different judges from the WATCH organization companies. Scores are tabulated and nominations are announced in January of each year. The top 5 scores in each of the categories are nominations for WATCH. The top score in each category is the WATCH Award winner. Winners are announced at the WATCH Award Ceremony in March of each year.

Each year, BCT nominates a production for adjudication, the show is viewed and scored, and the highest scoring shows become the winning productions.
